Multi Academy Trust Safeguarding Review
A Multi Academy Trust Safeguarding Review provides an independent, strategic evaluation of safeguarding practice across the Trust and its individual settings. It is designed to give Trustees, Governors and Central Safeguarding Teams clear assurance that safeguarding arrangements are effective, compliant and embedded consistently across the organisation.
Our reviews go beyond policy compliance. We examine how safeguarding culture is experienced in practice — from governance oversight and central quality assurance processes, through to operational practice within schools and academies. This includes reviewing the effectiveness of reporting structures, safeguarding systems, training, record keeping, safer recruitment, staff confidence, pupil voice and leadership accountability.
We work closely with Trust leadership, Governance and Central Teams to identify strengths, areas of emerging risk and opportunities for development. The review considers how safeguarding intelligence is shared across the Trust, how challenge and support are provided to schools, and whether safeguarding priorities are strategically aligned at every level.
The outcome is a detailed, practical review that helps MAT leaders strengthen safeguarding frameworks, improve consistency across settings and provide robust assurance to Trustees, Governors and external stakeholders. Our approach is collaborative, supportive and improvement-focused — recognising excellent practice whilst helping Trusts identify risks early and build sustainable safeguarding systems for the future.
Supervision
Safeguarding Supervision provides structured professional support for Designated Safeguarding Leads, Deputy DSLs, pastoral teams and safeguarding professionals working with children and young people. Available on both an individual and group basis, supervision creates a confidential and reflective space to explore complex safeguarding practice, decision making, risk and professional wellbeing.
Safeguarding work can be emotionally demanding and professionally isolating. Effective supervision helps practitioners process challenging situations, strengthen professional curiosity, reflect on practice and maintain safe, defensible decision making within increasingly complex environments.
Our supervision model combines support, challenge and professional reflection. Sessions may include discussion around live safeguarding concerns, contextual safeguarding, low-level concerns, professional boundaries, escalation, multi-agency working, organisational culture and leadership decision making. We also support practitioners in identifying patterns, managing risk and maintaining oversight of vulnerable children and young people.
Individual supervision offers tailored one-to-one support for safeguarding leaders and practitioners, whilst group supervision provides collaborative reflective practice for teams, helping strengthen consistency, shared learning and safeguarding culture across organisations.
Our approach is restorative, professionally challenging and grounded in current safeguarding guidance and practice. Supervision sessions are designed to strengthen confidence, resilience and accountability, whilst supporting organisations to build sustainable and reflective safeguarding systems that prioritise the safety and wellbeing of children.
Individual Safeguarding Review
An Individual Setting Safeguarding Review provides an in-depth, independent evaluation of safeguarding practice within your school, college or educational setting. The review is designed to give leaders, Governors and Trustees confidence that safeguarding arrangements are effective, compliant and fully embedded within the culture of the organisation.
We look beyond documentation alone to understand how safeguarding operates in day-to-day practice. This includes reviewing safeguarding and child protection procedures, leadership oversight, record keeping, staff knowledge, safer recruitment, site safety, pupil voice and the effectiveness of early help and intervention processes.
Our reviews assess whether safeguarding systems are understood by staff, consistently applied and aligned with current statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education. We also explore the lived experience of children and young people within the setting, helping leaders identify both strengths and areas where practice can be strengthened further.
Through a collaborative and supportive approach, we work alongside leaders and safeguarding teams to recognise excellent practice, identify emerging risks early and provide practical recommendations that support sustainable improvement. The outcome is a clear, evidence-informed review that supports quality assurance, strengthens safeguarding culture and provides reassurance to Governors, Trustees and external stakeholders.
Designated Safeguarding Lead Training (Level 3)
Level 3 Designated Safeguarding Lead Training is designed for DSLs, Deputy DSLs and senior leaders with responsibility for safeguarding within educational settings and organisations working with children and young people. The training provides the knowledge, confidence and strategic understanding required to lead safeguarding effectively and fulfil statutory responsibilities.
Our training goes beyond compliance-based learning to focus on the realities of safeguarding practice within schools, colleges and wider organisations. Sessions explore how safeguarding operates in practice, helping leaders develop confident decision making, professional curiosity and effective safeguarding oversight.
Training covers key safeguarding responsibilities including child protection processes, contextual safeguarding, managing allegations and low-level concerns, early help, multi-agency working, record keeping, online safety, attendance, vulnerability, escalation, safeguarding culture and leadership accountability. We also examine the practical application of statutory guidance, including Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children.
Delivered in an engaging and reflective format, the training encourages discussion, professional challenge and practical application to real-world safeguarding scenarios. We recognise that every setting operates within a unique context, and our approach supports leaders to apply safeguarding principles effectively within their own environments.
The outcome is confident, informed safeguarding leadership that strengthens organisational culture, supports effective decision making and helps ensure children and young people remain safe, heard and supported.
International School Safeguarding Review
An International School Safeguarding Review provides an independent evaluation of safeguarding practice within international and overseas educational settings. The review is designed to help school leaders, Boards and Governance Teams assure themselves that safeguarding arrangements are effective, culturally informed and aligned with both local requirements and international best practice.
International schools often operate within complex safeguarding landscapes, balancing differing legal frameworks, cultural considerations, inspection expectations and the needs of diverse school communities. Our reviews support schools in developing safeguarding systems that are both contextually appropriate and firmly child-centred.
We examine safeguarding practice across the whole organisation, including leadership oversight, governance, safeguarding culture, policy frameworks, safer recruitment, staff training, reporting systems, low-level concerns processes, pupil voice, online safety and the management of safeguarding concerns. We also consider how safeguarding responsibilities are understood across expatriate and local staffing structures, boarding provision where applicable, and wider community engagement.
Our approach goes beyond compliance alone. We focus on how safeguarding is experienced in practice by children, young people and staff, helping schools identify strengths, emerging risks and opportunities for development. Reviews are tailored to the unique context of each setting and can be aligned to international inspection frameworks, British Schools Overseas standards and UK safeguarding expectations where required.
The outcome is a clear, evidence-informed review that supports strategic improvement, strengthens safeguarding culture and provides assurance to Boards, Governors, proprietors and wider stakeholders. We work collaboratively and sensitively with international settings to build sustainable safeguarding systems that place the safety and wellbeing of children at the centre of school life.
